Hank Snow – Wandering On / You Didn’t Have to Tell Me (78 RPM)

A short one for today, and likely the rest of the week: work is exhausting. A 78, revisiting a Canadian artist who came up on My Kind of Country.

Hank Snow, credited here as Hank “The Yodeling Ranger,” was a Canadian musician who’s career got started in the 1930s and was active until the 1970s. I do not know when this disc was made, although my suspicion is 1941 based on other published catelogue numbers and release dates.

Side A
Wandering On
(C. Snow)
Singing and yodeling with guitars and bass
B-4694-A

Side B
You Didn’t Have to Tell Me
(C. Snow)
Singing with guitars and bass
B-4694-B

I already knew I enjoyed Hank Snow, although apparently not enough to specifically mention him when talking about My Kind of Country. And I already knew I enjoyed country of this era. These are both pleasing songs, although the age of the physical format has rendered them somewhat thin sounding.
